Emily Meschter Early Learning Center participated in a proactive statewide public school drinking water lead screening program sponsored by the Arizona Department of Environmental Quality (ADEQ). We are pleased to report that the Arizona Department of Environmental Quality (ADEQ) has shared that the lead screening results for drinking water samples collected were less than the screening level. All ADEQ sample collection and screening protocols were followed. ADEQ continues to coordinate this screening program with multiple state and local agencies, public water systems, public schools and other parties. While drinking water is not considered to be a common source of lead in Arizona, eliminating lead in drinking water is an important step to reducing your child’s overall exposure to lead. Please visit the ADEQ website for detailed information about the statewide public school drinking water screening program for lead: http://azdeq.gov/LeadScreeningProg.
